Home - About this project. |
This web-site is connected with archive standards and have recommendations how to store audio- video recordings and images too. Information based on russian archives and equipment (tape recorders, film cameras, etc.)
Firstly, i think there is no interesting things for other researchers (behind Russian Federation) because their web-sites have enough good instructions to do archive preservation correctly. Follow list of web-sites show what i mean:
* DOBES programme
* IASA
* ELAN
and there are lot of other web-projects in The World Wide Web.
It seems that people have done with their digitalizations long time ago, and other instructions is not needed. Russian archives started digitizing very late than Europe and other countries. "Russian standards" formed with some common information, and with no detail "how to do?", and without any "what if i store material this way..?"
Secondly, i don't see any reason to make russian "mirror" of that web-sites. Next link gives you good translated instructions IASA-TC 03 Rus, that enough to do digitizing process good. Key moments of archiving well documented. People who know english can read instructions easily, or with dictionary help.
I took some good "moments" from that web-sites and after few tests formed this "russian" instructions. The main idea is, anybody can process this instructions too and see it's working. Recommended parameters is closer to optimal. Almost the all software used is in free access and open (GPL licence).
Currently, for translating pages of website i haven't enough time, so i see useful the next translation online translator.
